Representatives of ÍSOR recently took part in the Icelandic delegation's presentation to a subcommittee of the United Nations Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf in New York, concerning seabed rights on the Reykjanes Ridge.

Other, no less important, seabed projects of ÍSOR concern, among other things, research into subsurface resources such as wind energy and geothermal energy, and natural hazards on the seafloor.
