In today's article in Morgunblaðið (27 November 2022), Bjarni Richter, geologist and director of business development and marketing at ÍSOR, is interviewed about the foreign projects that ÍSOR is working on. Among other things, it discusses projects in the Canary Islands and in Kashmir, India. The project in the Canaries involves “…surveying geothermal areas on three islands, including popular Icelandic tourist destinations, that is to say Tenerife and Gran Canaria, but also on La Palma, where a volcano erupted last year”. The article also notes that there is extensive cooperation among Icelandic parties who possess decades of experience and knowledge in geothermal research and its utilisation in Iceland. It is important to make use of that knowledge and thereby work together towards the goals of the Icelandic government and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
